After last week’s somewhat sober tribute to the election, Saturday Night Live was back at it again this weekend, taking a look at what might be going through President-elect Donald Trump‘s head in the weeks following his surprising victory. After taking last weekend off, Alec Baldwin returned to play Trump in the show’s cold open, showing the former reality star’s nervousness about suddenly being put in charge of the free world. After a member of the Joint Chiefs of Staff drops by Trump’s office to tell him how the military is very excited to hear about Trump’s “secret plan” to destroy ISIS, Baldwin’s Trump suddenly gets tongue-tied. “That’s right, a plan … very secret,” he said before scurrying over to a computer to Google “What is ISIS?” After realizing that ISIS is bigger and more compacted than he thought (and with no help from Siri) Trump tries to calm himself down. Baldwin wasn’t the only special return guest as SNL alum Jason Sudeikis dropped by during the skit to take up his former character of Mitt Romney. (Trump met with Romney on Saturday in a highly anticipated meeting.) After the pair shook hands and stared silently at each other for a full minute, they realized that things weren’t going to work out between them. And of course, SNL had to give a nod to the current Mike Pence–Hamilton scandal when Pence, played by Beck Bennett, dropped by Trump’s office. “Heard you went to see Hamilton, how was that,” Trump said. “It was great, I got a lecture,” Pence replied. “I love you Mike, you’re the reason I’m never going to get impeached,” Trump said. Saturday Night Live airs Saturdays (11:30 p.m. ET) on NBC.
