BB creams have been in the market for a very long time now. I was never attracted to one as I had my favourite La Roche Posay gel that I used on my face. I didn’t even know what BB stands until a year back. It’s basically a beauty balm or blemish balm which is a combination of primer, foundation, moisturiser and sunscreen. It is an all-in-one cream that saves you all the trouble when you are travelling and even otherwise. Read: BB, CC or DD – which cream is right for you? So I finally decided to give it a try. I picked up a small tube of Maybelline Clear Glow All-in-one BB O2 Radiance cream. It claims to have SPF 21/PA+++ and deep moisturising properties. The packaging and product It is a neat light blue tube with a twist lid and nozzle inside. The tube is sturdy and compact so super easy to carry. The nozzle applicator prevents spillage of the cream. The cream looks just like a foundation cream with a texture of a thick moisturiser. If foundation is too thick, I find it difficult to spread it evenly and a runny one doesn’t give you a good result. So the consistency of the cream is just perfect. The review It is not a concealer hence the cream doesn’t cover all the blemishes or dark spots. I did not expect it to since it is a daily use cream. Begin with a very small portion or your face will end up looking very greasy. It is apt for dry skin though. However, I still need to apply a coat of moisturiser before using this cream. It makes the application smoother and keeps the skin hydrated longer. Follow it up with a compact and you are good to go. Read: Tips to choose the right foundation for your skin type. The effect lasts for about 3-4 hours if you are travelling in moderate climate. If you are going to be indoors, the effect lasts a little longer. I prefer using this cream only during evenings or when I am out for brunches or some other occasion. For my daily look, I prefer a basic moisturiser and a compact. It is a super economical product considering it doubles up as a foundation and sunscreen too. An 18ml tube costs Rs250 and can last for about 2 months if you use it 2-3 times a week. I may not buy it again as I am not a fan of foundation or primers but for those of you who are, it’s a nice product to invest in. You can also try these 9 tips for long-lasting make-up.
